It would be ideal to spend an afternoon for an optional excursion to the beach at Galaxidi, or hike in the Parnassos. Enjoy a visit to the Temple of Apollo…. the ancient theatre in this city was built further up the hill from the Temple of Apollo, made out of limestone from Mt. Parnassus, giving spectators a view of the entire sanctuary and the valley. You would be guided to several beautiful landmarks including the Altar of the Chians, who built the main altar in black marble right outside Apollo’s temple, the Ancient Stadium where the Pythian Games were held and which could seat five thousand spectators, giving them a complete view of the valley below, the Gymnasium, and the Sanctuary of Athena Pronea. The Castalian spring is the sacred spring of this city which lies in the ravine of the Phaedriades.
